Budget Billing customers will see a summary of their plan here. Extra charges like billing service fees aren’t included in this section but are added to your bill.

Find the time period you are being billed for and your Point of Delivery ID (PoD ID) – which you will share with your energy supplier if you choose one other than RG&E.
Your rate and supply option are shown here. This bill is for a residential customer enrolled in RG&E’s Supply Service. If you choose an ESCO, it will be stated here. Learn more on our Pricing and Rates page.
Your meter reading chart shows whether your current and previous meter readings were actual, estimated, customer readings or if a reading was not available.
Delivery charges cover the cost of delivering electricity to your home, including transformers, distribution lines and customer service.

Delivery prices vary based on your use and are the same whether your supply comes from us or an ESCO. About 25% covers government-mandated costs.
Customer charge - Fixed fee all customers pay, regardless of usage.

Delivery Charge - How much you pay for the energy you received based on how much energy you’ve used.

Transition Charge – Part of this charge aims to make the energy industry more competitive, it appears as a credit or a charge. The other part funds state-mandated programs.
Revenue Decoupling Mech - It helps stabilize your bill throughout the year. You may see a credit or debit here.

SBC - A state mandated charge for all electric and natural gas customers. It funds clean energy activities conducted by NYSERDA.

Recovery Charge - Covers costs from past storm recovery efforts.
Supply Charge – The cost of the energy you use, passed through by RG&E with no markup. You may choose a third-party supplier (ESCO). Their charges appear separately. Includes state fees for renewable and zero-emissions programs.



Merchant Function Charge – A per-kWh fee for our cost to manage electricity supply, applied only to RG&E supply customers.

Customer charge - A fixed fee all natural gas customers pay regardless of energy usage.

Delivery Charge - How much you pay for the energy you received based on how much you’ve used, excluding what’s covered by the Customer Charge.

Revenue Decoupling Mech – A credit or charge on the bill that reflects the difference between forecasted and actual delivery service revenues.

Transition Charge - This charge goes towards funding state-mandated programs.
Delivery charges cover the cost of bringing natural gas to your home, including infrastructure like gas pipes and customer service. They vary based on your use and are the same whether your supply comes from us or an ESCO. About 25% also covers government-mandated fees.
