RG&E Holds Two More Informational Open Houses This Week
Events offer customers opportunity to connect with customer service reps in person
Company will have information about smart meters and assistance programs to help manage monthly energy costs ahead of the winter heating season
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — October 28, 2025 — Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) is holding two more Community Connection events this week in the Rochester area. These are informational open houses that offer customers the opportunity to connect with customer service representatives in person.
Customers will have the chance to learn about assistance programs they may qualify for, such as the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), a federal grant program that helps income-eligible customers pay for energy costs, repairs, and weatherization, and other programs that can help them manage their energy usage as we approach the winter heating season.
Customers are invited to attend the Community Connection events at their convenience. There is no formal presentation. Registration for the open house is not required and all are welcome.
Details of the scheduled events are below:
| Wed., October 29 | Thurs., October 30 |
| Greece Town Hall 1 Vince Tofany Blvd.., Rochester, N.Y. | Irondequoit Public Library 1290 Titus Ave. Rochester, N.Y. |
| 4 to 7 p.m. | 4 to 7 p.m. |
Representatives will be available to answer questions about smart meters and tools such as Energy Manager that help customers manage their monthly energy use. Smart meters use two-way wireless communications to securely transmit detailed usage information and meter status, therefore reducing the need for bill estimates or onsite visits. Customers with smart meters will no longer need to read their own meter each month. Once smart meters are installed in a community and connect to the Company network, customers can utilize Energy Manager to track energy usage down to the hour. Customers with smart meters can also sign up for usage alerts, which will allow them to better understand how they consume energy. For more benefits of smart meters, visit www.rge.com/smartmeters.
Informational displays and RG&E representatives will be available to answer questions, alleviate concerns, clarify misconceptions, and educate customers as part of the Company’s commitment to improving customer service.
