NYSEG and RG&E’s Philanthropic Efforts Strengthen Communities Across NY

Nearly 1,000 volunteers participated in 115 community events in 2025

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — March 3, 2026 — New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG), Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E), and their parent company Avangrid supported communities across New York State throughout 2025 through wide-ranging philanthropic and volunteer initiatives.

The Companies proudly encourage employees to volunteer their time in the community through the “Energized for Good” volunteer rewards program. Through this initiative, the Avangrid Foundation donates for each hour employees volunteer with qualifying organizations, up to 100 hours per employee.

In 2025, nearly 1,000 employee volunteers with the Companies participated in more than 115 events and dedicated 16,000 hours to support non-profits and other community groups. Organizations included local nature preservation agencies, youth summer camps, food pantries, cultural institutions, and other groups that support the local community. They built meaningful connections between organizations and the neighborhoods they serve.

“Our employee volunteers play an integral role in the communities we serve,” said Tom Garrity, director of municipal, community, and business relations for NYSEG and RG&E. “Not only do they live and work in New York, they’re committed to strengthening the foundations of their communities. We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships with non-profits and other community based organizations in 2026.”

NYSEG and RG&E will continue to prioritize elevating community groups into 2026. The Companies plan to provide charitable gifts to more than 100 community organizations, sponsor local initiatives, and provide new opportunities for economic development groups across New York State.
