Solar Panel and Wind Energy Programs
Distributed Generation
Customers with solar panels can earn incentives for the clean energy they generate. Through our Distributed Generation program, customers can receive permission to connect their energy source to our electrical system and sell excess electricity generated to RG&E.
Community Distributed Generation
Community distributed generation (CDG) allows an electrical production facility, such as a solar farm project, to share benefits through a subscription with residential and business participants who otherwise are not able to participate in a solar project. After signing up through a CDG project, participants receive a credit on their RG&E electricity bill.
Catch the Wind Program
Support the use of clean, renewable wind-generated electricity by participating in our Catch the Wind program.

New York Grid CONNECT Program
NY Grid CONNECT is a New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) led program focused on advancing innovation across the State and globally to build a low-carbon, reliable, and resilient grid. The collaborative platform unites a diverse group of stakeholders to define challenges and develop comprehensive solutions targeted to meet the State’s electric grid priorities emerging from the Climate Act Scoping Plan.
