Industry and tourism both prosper in Central New York.  Central New York is bordered by Lake Ontario to the north. Its strategic location has enabled it to develop into a prime industrial region, an important distribution point and a financial center.

Central New York also has a strong tourism and leisure industry. Lake Ontario, the Finger Lakes and Oneida Lake provide opportunities for a variety of water sports. There are several ski areas in the region for winter sport. Art galleries, museums, wineries and zoos are just a few of the area’s many attractions.
