Later this year, RG&E will offer electricity customers the opportunity to select an electricity supply option that will be in effect January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009. RG&E will post the estimated fixed electricity supply price component of the Fixed Price Option for the year 2009 on this Web site in October.
The actual fixed electricity supply price that will be effective January 1, 2009 will be posted on November 1, 2008.
What is the electricity supply price?
RG&E buys electricity on the open market. The estimated supply prices published here are based on current market estimates of the commodity price component of RG&E’s Fixed Price Choice for the year of 2009. Current market estimates of the commodity component for 2009 provided to RG&E by independent sources (which include power marketers) are used in developing these estimates. Customers can use this information to determine which supply choice is best for them.
More information regarding electricity supply choices will be provided prior to November 1, 2008.
