Prescriptive Rebates Participation Instructions
Start by having your contractor, distributor, or internal staff estimate the total rebate amount for your equipment.
Determine if pre-approval is required. If total rebates are less than $10,000, then pre-approval is NOT required.
Follow these simple steps to receive your rebate:
1. For projects where pre-approval is NOT required:
- Purchase and install the new equipment.
- Within 90 days of equipment installation, complete and submit the appropriate application with authorized signature. Include all detailed invoices (proof of purchase), product specification sheets and other relevant documentation.
- You’ll receive your rebate check within 6-8 weeks after verification of the approved project.
2. For projects where pre-approval is required:
- Submit an un-signed application. Wait for pre-approval before proceeding. Include the following supporting information:
- Inventory worksheets for lighting and controls
- Manufacturer’s data sheets
- (Note: Project expenditures made by the customer prior to the customer receiving approval of an application will not be eligible for rebates.)
- You will be notified in writing when your project has been approved for payment. (Note: A site inspection may be required as part of NYSEG/RG&E’s approval process)
- Purchase and install the new equipment. Notify NYSEG or RG&E before implementing any changes to the approved project scope
3. Sign and submit your application with authorized signature and supporting documentation including detailed invoices. If pre-approval was required be sure the final equipment is identical to the equipment specified in your initial application.
4. A site installation inspection may be required to verify equipment installation.
5. You’ll receive your incentive check within 6-8 weeks after verification of the approved project.
