Nearly all RG&E Customers Will Have Power Restored by Midnight
Dry ice and bottled water distribution in Wayne and Cayuga Counties continues tomorrow.


Rochester, NY – RG&E crews continue to make good progress and expect to have power restored to all customers in the Rochester area and 95% of its customers in Wayne and Cayuga Counties by midnight tonight. As of 6:30 p.m. approximately 832 RG&E customers remain without electricity due to these storms: 105 in Monroe County, 393 in Wayne County and 334 in Cayuga County.

“We are in the home stretch now. Our crews safely restored power to more than 2,700 customers today, and we expect to have almost all the approximately 34,000 RG&E customers affected by this weekend’s fierce storms restored tonight,” said Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E. “Our crews are concentrating their efforts in the Sodus area, and we remain on schedule to complete restoration there by noon on Monday (July 22). We appreciate our customer’s patience during this lengthy process.”

Dry Ice and Bottled Water Distribution Schedule for Monday

RG&E will continue to provide dry ice and bottled water for customers in the hardest-hit areas on Monday:

Wayne County

  • Sodus Fire department at 14 Mill Street in Sodus, NY - 315.483.4531
  • Wolcott Fire department at 6162 W Port Bay Rd in Wolcott, NY - 315-594-2549

The Wayne County distribution points will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 22, or by appointment by calling the fire department.

Cayuga County

  • Fairhaven Fire Dept. corner of St. Route 104A and Shortcut Rd. in downtown Fairhaven, NY – from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 22.
