RG&E Sends People, Materials to Help Binghamton Area Flood Restoration

Rochester, NY – RG&E has sent nearly 60 natural gas and electric technicians plus supply and support personnel to help NYSEG, its sister company, restore electric and natural gas service to its customers in flooded areas of Binghamton and Oneonta.

The crews departed Rochester Thursday and Friday, taking repair materials and supplies to replace spare equipment that was impacted by flooding in Binghamton.

As many of the affected areas remain inaccessible by road, Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E, and members of the companies’ operations team were expected to fly into the area from Rochester via helicopter this afternoon to get a first-hand look at the devastation in the region.
