 Rochester, NY, April 16, 2008 – RG&E employees will be volunteering at a number of community Earth Day activities this month.

“We are dedicated to environmental stewardship at work, and these events give us the opportunity to show that commitment to the community,” said Jim Laurito, president and CEO of RG&E. “Our employees deserve a pat on the back for the results they have achieved in protecting the environment on and off the job.”

Among the activities where RG&E employees will lend a hand are:

- The City of Rochester Bureau of Parks’ “Earth Day, Every Day” event at Cobbs Hill Park on  Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 to
11:30 a.m. Participants will clear trails and remove winter debris  and participate in a scavenger hunt and other activities aimed at educating families about the  environment.

 - The Seneca Park Zoo’s Go Green Recycle Rally and Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 19  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include electronics recycling and environmental education.

 - The city’s Clean Sweep in southwest Rochester on April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. As regular  participants in Clean Sweep, RG&E employees will help with general clean-up work in the  neighborhood. RG&E has also donated 100 safety vests to Clean Sweep.

 - In collaboration with the Canandaigua City School District and the City of Canandaigua,  development of a garden at the south end of Main Street in Canandaigua on Saturday, April 26.
